Lots and lots of space to lock your bikes outside Bellfield! Arrive along the Promenade. Our nearest train station is Brunstane (7 min cycle) or 25-30 minute cycle from centre of Edinburgh. Loads of info, links and campaigns on cycling in Edinburgh from Spokes.
Nearest train station is Brunstane (Scottish Borders line to Tweedbank and Waverley) which is a 15 minutes walk to Bellfield. Brunstane is 7 minutes train ride from Edinburgh Waverley (2 trains per hour). See Scotrail for details.
Bus number 26 (direction Seton Sands or Tranent) from Prince's Street (leaves from the side of Jenner's department store) leaves approximately every 7 minutes and takes about 40 minutes to get to Portobello (get off at stop 'Bellfield Lane'). Check out Lothian Buses for all other bus options. Cost £1.70 (pay by card or exact change).
On-street car parking is free of charge but very busy. It gets quieter as you head towards Musselburgh.
STAY WITH A FRIEND
Please get in touch if finding a place to stay is making you think you can't come. Several local friends have offered crash or bed space to those in need.
GUEST HOUSES, HOTELS
There is lots of accommodation available this time of year (not being in the peaks of festival time in August or Christmas and Hogmanay!)
www.airbnb.com (an American company that is ubiquitous)
Visit Scotland (the Scottish Government's attempt)
Good park-up spots are Fisherrow Harbour with public loo, tap and outdoor shower (30 minute walk to Bellfield); Brunstane Road North; Bedford Terrace, Portobello.
